Weekly Use of Ajwain

Once a week, on an empty stomach in the morning, place a teaspoon of ajwain in your mouth and swallow it with water. Do not chew. Children under 10 years of age should take half a teaspoon (2 grams) and those above 10 years of age should take one teaspoon (5 grams).

Rock Salt for Cough

Heat a 5-gram lump of rock salt thoroughly over a fire, stove, or a pan with tongs. When it turns red, immediately dip the hot lump in half a cup of water, remove it, and drink the hot salty water in one go. Drinking this before bed for two to three days continuously provides relief from cough, especially a cough with mucus. Dry the salt lump and store it; the same lump can be used repeatedly.

Liquorice Powder for Sore Throat

Eating licorice powder placed in a betel leaf helps cure a sore throat.  Or, before going to sleep, keep one gram of licorice powder in your mouth and chew it for a while. Then, keep it in your mouth and go to sleep. Your throat will be clear by morning.

For Mouth and Throat Ailments

Fennel and Mishri: Chewing half a teaspoon of fennel seeds after meals twice a day helps relieve many mouth ailments and dry coughs. It clears a hoarse voice, cures dryness in the throat, and makes the voice sweet.

For Sore Throat or Dry Cough

Ginger and Jaggery: For a sore throat or dry cough, mix ground ginger with jaggery and ghee and consume it. Honey can also be used in place of jaggery and ghee.

Carom Seeds and Salt for Intestinal Worms

For children, mix half a gram of carom seeds powder with black salt to taste and give it with warm water at night. For adults, mix four parts of carom seeds powder with one part of black salt and take two grams of it with warm water before going to bed.

 Raisins, myrobalan, and sugar for anorexia

If you have a loss of appetite, grind equal amounts of raisins (remove the seeds), myrobalan, and sugar to make a chutney. Mix five to six grams (one teaspoon) with a little honey and lick it twice a day before meals.

Camphor and mustard oil for body pain

Fill 10 grams of camphor and 200 grams of mustard oil in a bottle, seal it tightly, and place it in the sun. Once the mixture dissolves, massage with this oil. Bathua juice for joint pain: Drinking fifteen grams of fresh Bathua leaf juice daily helps relieve arthritis. Do not add salt, sugar, or anything else. Take it every morning on an empty stomach or at four in the evening for two to three months.

Buttermilk and carom seeds for flatulence

For gas in the stomach, mix two grams of carom seeds and half a gram of black salt in 125 grams of curd whey and consume it after meals.  Take as needed for one to two weeks.

Mustard or olive oil for cracked hands and feet

Applying mustard oil to the navel daily prevents chapped lips and softens them. It also relieves itching and dryness in the eyes.

For colds, fevers, and chronic respiratory problems

Tulsi: Grind 21 basil leaves into a chutney using a clean mortar and pestle. Mix it with 10-30 grams of sweet yogurt and consume it every morning on an empty stomach for three months. If yogurt doesn't suit your taste, add honey. Give small children half a gram of basil chutney mixed with honey.

Amla Murabba and Gulkand for Extreme Anger

If you are very angry, eat one piece of Amla Murabba in the morning. In the evening, eat one spoonful of Gulkand and drink milk.
